Delhi-NCR schools shut; AAP, BJP spar over worsening AQI
The highest 24-hour average PM 2.5 levels were observed at 10 pm Monday at 425.7 µg/m3 — seven times the national prescribed standards (60 µg/m3).
With the national capital witnessing the worst pollution levels reported so far since 2019 — the 24-hour AQI on Monday stood at 494 — Delhi and NCR states of Gurgaon, Faridabad and Noida swung into action, ordering the closure of schools and switching to the online mode till Class 12. Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University also declared online classes till November 23 and 22, respectively.
The Central Pollution Control Board data is available only from 2015.
